Rhyannah Hamer graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Biology and Science Communication before completing a Master of Occupational Therapy at University of Canberra.
During University, Rhyannah studied a variety of health-related fields including human anatomy and science communication skills. She also has clinical experience working in occupational rehabilitation, community care with adults and upper limb and cognitive rehabilitation with clients aged 16 and over.
Rhyannah developed a passion for hand therapy during her first job as a New Graduate Occupational Therapist in Canberra. She believes this passion grew from her interest in the anatomy of the upper limb and seeing the direct impact that hand therapy can have on someone’s life.
Rhyannah strives to help patients return to their pre-injury level, whether that be work, sport or anything that is important to them. Rhyannah particularly enjoys staying up to date with the latest in hand therapy research and developing tailored rehabilitation programs for her patients.
Outside of work you’ll find Rhyannah playing tennis socially and competitively at her local club and barracking passionately for her current favourite tennis players, Jannik Sinner and Alex de Minaur. After her mum introduced her to tennis as a child, Rhyannah has loved playing and following tennis ever since.
Luckily for Action Rehab, Rhyannah now dedicates her time to Action Rehab supporting people to overcome their upper limb injuries.
