Siobhan Finlay

Siobhan Finlay graduated from Technological University of the Shannon (Ireland) with a BA (Honours) Applied Social Studies in Social Care before completing a MSc in Occupational Therapy at Brunel University London.

Originally from Offaly, Ireland, Siobhan relocated to Australia to further her career in Occupational Therapy, specialising in hand therapy.

During University Siobhan studied in a variety of health related fields including human anatomy and nutritional sciences. Siobhan has diverse experience in paediatrics, psychosocial care, surgical, and neurological rehabilitation.

Since graduating, Siobhan has worked in paediatrics and psychosocial care, where she has strengthened her skills in neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approaches.

Siobhan developed a passion for hand therapy during her third clinical placement at Brunel University London, where she had the opportunity to shadow and work alongside experienced hand therapists. Her interest in upper limb anatomy, combined with witnessing the direct and meaningful impact of hand therapy on people’s lives, solidified her enthusiasm for this area of practice.

Siobhan is committed to helping patients return to their preinjury level whether that involves work, sport, or other meaningful activities. She especially enjoys staying up to date with the latest upper limb research and creating personalised rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s goals.

Outside of work, Siobhan enjoys cooking, baking, painting, catching up with friends and exploring new places. Siobhan is a supporter of the Melbourne Demons in the AFL. Luckily for Action Rehab, Siobhan also dedicates her time to helping people overcome upper limb injuries.
