Sam Speer initially completed a Bachelor of Human Movement and Exercise Science at Victoria University earning membership to the Golden Key Society.
Growing up Sam was passionate about Basketball, AFL and Cricket. As such, he saw an assortment of injuries varying in severity. This inspired him to further his study and attend The University of Melbourne where he graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy. During his studies he completed placements with the Sandringham Dragons, Melbourne Tigers and an international placement at New York Sports Medicine.
The first stop in Sam’s career was with Revita aged care, where he worked closely with seniors helping to restore functioning and promoting independence.
Along his professional journey, Sam developed a fascination about the upper limb and all of its inner workings. This led him to pursue a role at Action Rehab: Hand Therapy where now works with all populations and in synergy with GP’s and Orthopaedic Surgeons. Sam has become skilled at assessment and diagnosis, splinting, post-operative care, exercise prescription and management of chronic conditions.
When Sam is not at work, He loves spending time with family, exploring Victoria and is many hidden secrets or playing Basketball with his childhood friends.
