Rebecca Chan is a Physiotherapist with a Bachelor (Honours) of Physiotherapy treating the hand and upper limb (wrist, elbow, shoulder) at Action Rehab Hand Therapy.

She has a strong interest in hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation, supporting people recovering from hand injuries, wrist pain, elbow injuries, sports injuries, work-related injuries, and post-surgical conditions. Rebecca is passionate about helping people restore movement, function and confidence so they can return to the activities that matter most to them.

Throughout her training and professional career, Rebecca gained experience across a broad range of healthcare settings including elderly care, neurological rehabilitation, trauma and orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. These experiences provided a strong foundation in understanding how injuries impact everyday life and helped shape her interest in upper limb rehabilitation. She has worked with both adults and children in outpatient musculoskeletal settings and developed expertise in assessing and treating a wide variety of upper limb conditions.

Rebecca’s passion for hand therapy grew through her interest in upper limb anatomy and the unique role the hand plays in almost every aspect of daily life. She enjoys the challenge of problem-solving alongside patients and finds it rewarding to help people regain independence after injury, surgery or ongoing conditions affecting the hand, wrist or elbow. She has a particular interest in evidence-informed rehabilitation and enjoys keeping up to date with emerging hand therapy research to ensure her patients receive high-quality care.

Rebecca takes a patient-centred approach to treatment, focusing on understanding each person’s goals, lifestyle and priorities.

Whether someone wants to return to work, sport, caring for family members, hobbies, or everyday tasks, she works collaboratively with them to develop an individualised rehabilitation plan. She believes clear communication, education and practical advice play a vital role in helping people feel confident throughout their recovery journey.

Rebecca is committed to providing tailored rehabilitation programs that combine clinical reasoning with evidence-informed treatment strategies. She values building strong relationships with her patients and helping them better understand their condition, treatment options and progress throughout rehabilitation.

Outside of work, Rebecca has a long-standing interest in movement and sport. She previously trained to 2nd Dan level in Taekwondo and competed at state level in Malaysia. She also enjoys travelling, hiking, bouldering and running. Her active lifestyle helps her appreciate the importance of movement and recovery, and she enjoys helping others return to the activities they love.

Rebecca looks forward to supporting patients on their journey back to confident, comfortable function.
