SERVICE AREAS
Qiling “Sherry” Xu is a Physiotherapist with a Master of Physiotherapy from The University of Sydney.

Sherry works with people experiencing a wide range of upper limb conditions, including hand and wrist injuries, thumb pain, wrist pain, tendon injuries, elbow conditions such as tennis elbow, work-related injuries, arthritis, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

She has a particular interest in helping people with conditions such as De Quervain’s syndrome, which can make gripping, lifting, parenting tasks, work duties, and everyday hand use uncomfortable, as well as tennis elbow, which may cause pain on the outside of the elbow, grip weakness, and difficulty with lifting, carrying, sporting activities, and other daily tasks.

Throughout her training and clinical experience, Sherry has worked across private practice, community settings, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. These experiences exposed her to a broad range of upper limb conditions and reinforced the importance of personalised rehabilitation.

Her background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, pain management, injury rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and hands-on treatment has helped shape her interest in supporting people with upper limb injuries and conditions.

Sherry was drawn to hand therapy because it is functional rehabilitation involved in helping people recover from upper limb injuries. She enjoys the challenge of understanding how hand, wrist, and elbow conditions affect a person’s work, hobbies, sport, and everyday life.

She finds it rewarding to support patients through their recovery journey, whether they are returning to work after an injury, getting back to sport, or regaining independence in daily tasks. She also has a strong interest in helping patients maximise hand function throughout rehabilitation.

As a clinician, Sherry believes that every patient’s goals and circumstances are different. She takes the time to listen, understand what matters most to each person, and develop an individualised treatment plan that aligns with their needs.

She values clear communication, and collaborative decision-making, ensuring patients understand their condition and feel confident throughout their rehabilitation. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Sherry enjoys helping patients from diverse backgrounds feel supported and understood during their recovery.
