Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice
Megan graduated from Latrobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice. Whilst completing her studies Megan has worked in allied health clinics in reception and understands the importance of great communication with patients and the difference it can have on patient outcomes.
During University Megan studied a variety of health-related fields including human anatomy and nutritional sciences. She also has clinical experience working in Hand Therapy, Geriatric Evaluation and Management and community health in the Northern Territory. Spending time in the Northern Territory in her third year of OT cemented her passion for helping individuals.
Megan developed a passion for hand therapy during her final clinical placement at university where she spent 8 weeks in a major Victorian public hospital. She believes this passion grew from her interest in the anatomy of the upper limb and seeing the direct impact that hand therapy can have on someone’s life.
Megan strives to help patients return to their pre-injury level, whether that be work, sport or anything that is important to them. Megan particularly enjoys staying up to date with the latest in hand therapy research and developing tailored rehabilitation programs for her patients.
Outside of work you’ll find Megan representing her local club and barracking passionately for her beloved Collingwood magpies in the AFL. Megan hopes to attend more games in 2023 now she is not juggling university and work on weekends. Megan grew up playing netball, however, has swapped weekends at local clubs for exploring our backyard with her partner camping. Megan is also a keen water skier and spends her summer on the boat at the lake. When at home Megan enjoys cooking for her family, especially sweets. Megan now dedicates her time to Action Rehab supporting people to overcome their upper limb injuries.
