She has experience supporting people with injuries across the body and a particular interest in hand and upper limb rehabilitation, including the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Maxine enjoys helping people manage sporting injuries, everyday concerns and the physical demands of work, hobbies and daily life.
Maxine’s experience in private practice and sporting environments, together with her interests in climbing and the performing arts; including aerial, ground and partner acrobatics, hand balancing and instrumental music, has shaped her interest in hand therapy.
She enjoys developing her skills in custom splinting and progressive rehabilitation, while exploring practical ways for people to stay involved in meaningful activities where appropriate.
Maxine also values clear education about injury management, tissue health and strategies that may reduce the risk of future problems.
Maxine’s approach is very centred around patient goals and making sure they understand the nature of the issue and how treatment can support both. She draws upon her ability to actively listen and encourages patients to engage in the rehabilitation process, to hopefully achieve the desired outcome.
When not at work, Maxine loves spending time outdoors – anything from hiking, camping, trail running, or more recently surfing. At home, she has 2 cats who are an adorable & constant source of entertainment!
