He has a particular interest in upper limb rehabilitation and enjoys helping patients manage hand injuries, wrist pain, elbow injuries, sports-related issues, work injuries and post-surgical recovery.
Lochlan’s background as a remedial massage therapist and physiotherapist has shaped his commitment to supporting people through injury and guiding them back to work, sport and the activities they enjoy. He values the practical, problem-solving nature of rehabilitation and the opportunity it provides to help patients regain strength, confidence and independence.
Throughout his education Lochlan has developed a keen interest in upper limb anatomy and daily function. His own experiences with wrist pain, along with learning across hospital rehabilitation, private practice, community health and sporting environments, taught him how important it is to understand each patient’s goals and the impact upper-limb injuries have on work, sport and daily life.
Through placements and years working with supporting athletes in community sport, he developed a strong appreciation for the role of wrist, hand, elbow and shoulder function in both performance and routine activities. These experiences shaped his commitment to helping people restore movement, strength and confidence in their upper limb.
Lochlan’s interest in upper limb therapy grew from a fascination with anatomy and personal experiences. While on placement, Lochlan enjoyed working with patients recovering from fractures, tendon injuries and post-surgical procedures. He valued the hands-on nature of upper-limb rehabilitation whether helping someone regain movement, designing a clear rehabilitation plan or creating a splint that supported healing. Seeing patients return to work, sport and their hobbies was incredibly rewarding and these moments cemented his passion for hand therapy.
Lochlan is motivated by the impact upper-limb rehabilitation can have on a person’s confidence and daily life. Helping someone use their hand comfortably again, return to their trade, lift their child or get back to the sport they love is what continues to inspire his work in this specialised area.
Lochlan takes a collaborative approach to patient care, focusing on understanding what matters most to each person. He listens closely to patient goals and works with them to create clear, tailored rehabilitation plans that feel achievable and make sense day-to-day.
Lochlan explains injuries and treatment options in a straightforward way, helping people feel informed, supported and confident throughout their recovery.
Whether someone is managing pain, recovering after surgery or returning to work or sport, Lochlan aims to make rehabilitation feel structured, purposeful and encouraging. He values evidence-informed care and believes that progress comes from working together setting meaningful goals, celebrating small wins and building confidence step by step.
Outside the clinic, Lochlan enjoys staying involved in local football and cricket communities, where he supports athletes on game days and enjoys being part of the team environment. He likes keeping active through running and strength training, while also sneaking in a few drinks at the pub.
A hopeful Manchester United supporter, he’s no stranger to late nights and emotional rollercoasters. These interests help keep him grounded and approachable in his work with patients.
