Lee-Anne Chazen

Lee-Anne Chazen graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy before completing a Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Witwatersrand and an Advanced Diploma in Hand Therapy at the University of Pretoria.

Lee-Anne developed a passion for hand therapy during her community service year at Tambo Memorial Hospital where she then decided to pursue further studies to develop her skills.

For her Masters research she explored the topic; Understanding the occupational therapists use of splinting the affected hand of adult patients with neurological injuries. This research allowed her to advance her splinting expertise for complex neuro hand cases.

Lee-Anne has clinical experience working in acute hospital, rehabilitation and outpatient and community settings. She is driven by evidence-based practice and working efficiently to achieve results.

Lee-Anne particularly enjoys mentoring young therapists to improve clinical reasoning and understand the principles of hand therapy and splinting, that can make them achieve great results with their patients. To achieve this she also does her best to stay ahead of the latest literature and clinical skills in hand therapy.

Outside of work, you’ll find Lee-Anne spending quality time with her husband and three children. A passionate runner, she has completed three ultra-marathons and enjoys staying active. Having recently relocated from Cape Town, South Africa, to Melbourne, Lee-Anne is excited to embrace the vibrant culture and sporting spirit of Australia. Luckily for Action Rehab, Lee-Anne brings her expertise and dedication to helping people overcome upper limb injuries, ensuring they get back to doing what they love.
