Iris Qi graduated from Queen’s University in Canada with a Bachelor of Kinesiology before completing her Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne. Growing up in China, Iris is fluent in Mandarin and able to consult in Mandarin.
During Uni Iris studied a variety of health-related fields including human anatomy, physiology, neurology and biomechanics. She also has clinical experience working in public hospital and professional soccer club. Iris’s passion for upper limb rehabilitation stemmed from her own experience with a shoulder injury sustained during her teenage years while playing sports. Having been a patient herself, she strongly believes in the power of proper rehabilitation and the profound impact it can have on a person’s function and quality of life.
Iris is dedicated to helping patients regain their pre-injury level of function—whether that involves work, sports, or other meaningful activities. She has a strong interest in hand therapy and enjoys staying current with the latest research to develop individualized rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s needs.
Outside of work you’ll find Iris barracking for Melbourne Demons in the AFL. She also enjoys outdoor hikes and exploring Melbourne laneway coffee shops. Iris now dedicates her time to Action Rehab, she loves building rapport with clients, understanding them as a person and supporting them to overcome their upper limb injuries.
