SERVICE AREAS
Gerard Khoo is a physiotherapist with a strong interest in hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation at Action Rehab.

He completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, following a Bachelor of Science at Monash University, and brings a broad clinical background spanning musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, work-related injuries and ergonomic workstation assessment.

At Action Rehab, Gerard works with people experiencing a wide range of hand, wrist, elbow and upper limb conditions. His areas of interest include wrist pain, elbow injuries, custom splinting, post-surgical rehabilitation, work and sports injuries, arthritis, and helping patients rebuild strength, movement and confidence after injury or surgery.

Gerard was drawn to hand therapy because he enjoys anatomy, practical problem-solving and the detailed nature of upper limb rehabilitation. He particularly enjoys the process of creating custom splints and developing rehabilitation plans that are specific to each person’s injury, goals and day-to-day needs.

His approach is patient-centred and collaborative. Gerard takes the time to listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person, and explain treatment options in a clear and practical way.
Whether someone is recovering from surgery, managing pain, returning to work, getting back to sport or simply trying to make everyday tasks easier, he aims to help them feel informed, supported and confident throughout their rehabilitation.

Gerard also values the role of education in recovery. He believes that when patients understand their condition and the reasons behind their treatment plan, they are better equipped to take an active role in their progress.
His goal is to provide tailored care that supports each person’s recovery while fitting into their lifestyle, work demands and personal goals.

Outside of work, Gerard enjoys staying active outdoors. You might find him playing tennis, bouldering, getting in the occasional surf or following the Richmond Tigers.
