Alexander Gorman graduated from the University of Melbourne majoring in anatomy and physiology before completing his Master of Physiotherapy degree at Swinburne University.
While at University, Alexander studied a wide range of health-related fields, from detailed human anatomy and biomechanics to advanced physiological sciences. He also has clinical experience working in a variety of hospital and community environments, sport settings, and private practice, giving him a well-rounded foundation in physiotherapy. Outside of his studies, Alexander has gained invaluable on-field experience working with the Oakleigh Chargers in the Coates Talent League and St Kevin’s Old Boys Football Club, where he is involved in the assessment and management of acute sports injuries.
Alexander’s experience with hand therapy and upper limb rehab started as a patient. Whilst being treated for multiple injuries by the physiotherapists at Action Rehab, he witnessed first-hand the skill, care, and results of specialised upper limb therapy. This personal journey not only aided his recovery from those injuries, but sparked a passion for physiotherapy, especially in upper limb treatment. As a result, Alexander intends to provide his patients with the same positive experience in their recovery and is motivated to deliver the same standard of personalised, effective care.
Alexander is committed to helping every patient return to, and even exceed, their pre-injury level, whether that means performing at work, playing sport, or simply returning to everyday activities that matter to them. He is committed to ongoing professional development, keeping up to date with the latest research, and developing personalised rehabilitation programs for his patients that combine evidence-based techniques with each patient’s unique goals.
When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Alexander representing his local footy club, cheering loudly for the mighty Geelong Cats in the AFL, or glued to the cricket in the summer. These days, he’s proud to be part of the team at Action Rehab, helping people recover from upper limb injuries and get back to what matters most.
