Alex Ford is an experienced Occupational Therapist treating the hand and upper limb at Action Rehab Hand Therapy at our Ringwood East Clinic.
Alex graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Science before completing a Master of Occupational Therapy at Swinburne University.
During university, Alex studied a wide range of health-related disciplines including human anatomy, physiology, and nutritional sciences, and gained valuable clinical experience working in hand therapy.
Alex developed a strong passion for hand therapy during his final clinical placement at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Since graduating, he has gained 2.5 years of experience working in private practice hand therapy and has completed his Graduate Fellowship in Hand Therapy. Through this, he has continued to expand his clinical knowledge and refine his skills in upper limb rehabilitation.
Alex strives to help patients return to their pre-injury level of function, whether that involves work, sport, or the activities that are important to them. He particularly enjoys staying up to date with the latest hand therapy research and developing tailored rehabilitation programs to support each patient’s individual goals.
Outside of work, you’ll find Alex going to the gym, staying fit, or heading down to Phillip Island when time allows. A passionate Essendon supporter, Alex can often be found barracking loudly for the Bombers during the AFL season.
Luckily for Action Rehab, Alex now dedicates his time to supporting people to overcome upper limb injuries and return to doing what they love.
