Michelle Chu is a physiotherapist and clinical Pilates instructor at Action Rehab, graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours).
She has had previous experience in injury management from sports training for VAFA football and teaching Pilates classes at her local gym.
Prior to her career in physiotherapy, Michelle worked in various office settings, clicking away at a computer for most of the day and understands the impact that desk-based jobs can have on the upper limb. As such Michelle has a holistic approach to treatment the empowers people to reach their goals.
Michelle developed her fascination for upper limb injuries whilst on placement at university and decided to this was the path she wanted to pursue for her career.
Michelle has a developed skills in both the acute and end phase stages of therapy. She works side by side with orthopaedic surgeons in a post operative setting which has led her to become well versed in splinting, manual therapy and graded exercise prescription.
Michelle loves to keep active, whether it be shredding the slopes on her skis, swimming, ice skating, and working out at the gym, which has resulted in her fair share of injuries and rehabilitation.
These previous experiences had led to one of Michelle’s true passions in clinical Pilates. Starting with a comprehensive assessment, she tailors a program to her client’s specific needs, not only considering injury rehabilitation but for whole-body functioning.
