Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Santo Tomas. She studied her post graduate degree, Doctor of Physiotherapy in Utica College, New York.
She worked in a tertiary hospital in the Philippines, where she gained ten years of clinical experience with a broad spectrum of patients in various settings. After migrating to Australia, Melissa worked as a physiotherapist in a private practice clinic in Moe wherein, she obtained skills in Sports rehabilitation and Clinical based Pilates. She enjoyed being a Pilates instructor and incorporates rehabilitation treatment utilizing reformer and trapeze.
Melissa developed passion in research after she attained her post graduate degree. She studies continuously on the most recent research on assessment and management. She aims to deliver an uttermost outcome to every client she handles by providing an evidence-based approach treatment.
Melissa has specific interest in shoulder and hand injuries after being exposed to wide array of conditions from previous employment in the hospital. She experienced more fulfillment in her career seeing post op clients progress successfully and help them return to their full capacity. Hence, pursuing specialization in these areas with Action Rehab. Furthermore, Melissa is keen to enhance her repertoire more in upper limb therapy by attending trainings and workshops.
Melissa’s principal goal is to provide exceptional service to every patient she handles. Currently, she dedicates her time to Action Rehab supporting people to overcome their upper limb injuries.
Her hobbies include watching movies, hiking and travelling. She’s also a coffee aficionado. Although Melissa is not a sports enthusiast, she cheers for Richmond Football Club.
